  1. How about that then? Great site
    :>)

  2. It’s time the actual quality of music is put to the test.
That stupid behemoth of a cartoon character is invading and degrading electronic musical culture.
By taking the rifts of some of the most holy and sacred anthems of techno and house music
and reshaping them into a 10-year-old oriented musical “fun fest” t
hat stupid frog and all his friends are making a mockery of the already poorly established rave culture.
It’s a sin what that frog is doing to cartoons with its “belly button”
but to invade and collaborate music into its mutated cartoons is a sin worthy of crusification.
All others before me who have posted a positive note of the crazy frog should be ashamed.
It’s time the severity of this cultural crash
be spoke by all electronica enthusiasts because I’m certain they’ll agree with me.

  1. […] Other interesting titbits relating to Giorgio?s synth sounds revolve around this classic picture above of him and a Moog modular synth. Most presume this to be his rig in his studio which is not the case. The setting is Dan Wyman’s Sound Arts studio, believed to be circa 1977 or 1978. Also contrary to popular belief its not Giorgio laboriously pouring over the synth programming himself, which a little digging can uncover just how little Giorgio often personally got under the hood synthwise. Dan Wynam programmed many of the elements for Giorgio over the years, and the likes of Once Upon A time (1977), Giorgio & Chris (1978), No 1 Song In Heaven (1979). The synth in the pic, essentially as is, was utilised on movies such as Assault on Precinct 13 (1976), Halloween (1978) and The Fog (1979). All of which have been remade oddly enough. Another synth programmer of note in the Giorgio hall of fame is one by name of Harold Faltermeyer who was responsible for not only the epic Tog Gun anthem (which was also a movie that Giorgio has produced tracks for, such as Take my breath away) but the Axel F track from Beverly Hills cop. Yes that catchy little tune that became the most frustratingly naff mobile phone ring tone and most unreasonably popular number 1 on the world music charts per the efforts of the crazy frog. Without the millions of presets and endless VST?s of today?s era, these programmers were well versed in the art of subtractive synthesis and I can only imagine how exciting the first wave of FM synthesis was, namely the affordable Yamaha DX7 which was and remains notoriously difficult to truly master. That is to say anyone can learn to tweak presets given enough time and experience but it takes some discipline to completely master the ground up maths and creativity of patch writing an FM synth from scratch.
